Robert is an elderly man with Cerebral Palsy. He is independent, non-verbal, non-ambulatory, and reliant upon his attendant, Tom, for much of his personal care. Bath is at once an intimate portrait of one aspect of their relationship, as well as a subtle re-working of one of the commonplaces in disability imagery.
